Noticeboard

We would like to thank you for your patience and understanding with the difficulties we have encountered due to the nationwide cyber attack.

Our computers are now back on but with limited  access at the moment so we are only able to see patients with urgent problems. Routine appointments should hopefully be back to normal by next week.

The NHS IT team have worked tirelessly to resolve the problems which are still on going so please continue to be patient and hopefully normal service will resume next week.

Thank you

Repeat Medication Ordering.

We have taken the difficult decision and amended the practice policy regarding the ordering of Repeat medication by Chemists. From the 1st June 2017 Chemists will no longer be able to order medication on a patients behalf. The other usual methods of ordering medication remain - in person, online or now by Fax. The link below explains these changes in more detail.

Dr Walker

It is with sadness that Dr Walker left the Surgery at the end of the 2016 after 22 years of loyal service. He will be missed by staff and patients. He has now taken up a new post so as to be closer to his Church and we wish him well in his new practice in Hyson Green.

Church Street Medical Centre is Rated Outstanding by CQC!

We are pleased to announce  that the Practice has been rated "Outstanding" in our recent CQC inspection.  Only 194 GP practices in the Country have been given this rating and we are incredibly proud of all the Staff at the Surgery and our Patient Participation group for their contribution to the Practice.

I have set myself the challenge of trying to run 100 miles non stop in September at the Dukeries 100. Although I love running this will be the hardest thing I have done so far and I'm hoping not only will this be a fantastic event but I want to run in support of an amazing family who I have had the privilege of looking after over the past 14 years as a GP. Since being born with congential heart defects, due to a genetic condition, the 2 sisters have faced multiple cardiac surgeries at Glenfield hospital. Currently Amelia is waiting further open heart surgery as previous valve surgery has been unsuccessful. Throughout this the family have received support from Heartlinks who provide accommodation to families to stay while their children are in hospital but also provide for much needed paediatric equipment needed for their surgery. I know first hand how much of a difference this has made to a family going through so much! I'm hoping the thought of what the girls have been through will spur me round and ensure that no matter how tough it gets the courage they have shown throughout their treatment will set the example of the determination I will need to finish!

You are allowed to have certain treatments on repeat prescription without seeing the doctor.

If you wish us to post back your prescriptions, please let us have a stamped addressed envelope and mention this when requesting the prescription.

Please order in time but remember:

  • Only order drugs you require
  • Do not stockpile drugs
  • Please let us know if you are no longer taking a particular medication

If you have decided against taking certain drugs please let us know. The doctors would prefer to know exactly what medication you are taking to ensure treatment is efficient. It is better they know!
