Repeat Medication Ordering.

We have taken the difficult decision and amended the practice policy regarding the ordering of Repeat medication by Chemists. From the 1st June 2017 Chemists will no longer be able to order medication on a patients behalf. The other usual methods of ordering medication remain - in person, online or now by Fax. The link below explains these changes in more detail.

Church Street Medical Centre is Rated Outstanding by CQC!

We are pleased to announce  that the Practice has been rated "Outstanding" in our recent CQC inspection.  Only 194 GP practices in the Country have been given this rating and we are incredibly proud of all the Staff at the Surgery and our Patient Participation group for their contribution to the Practice.

FAQ - Proposed Merger

Patient Engagement Meetings

The two practices have a history of working closely together and we believe that this merger will enable us to offer a greater variety of services to our patients.

Whilst our name will change, we will continue to work to our shared values and ethos, placing patients at the centre of our combined service. Patients will still be able to see their named GP for routine care appointments but we will be able to provide improved access for urgent care appointments too.

There will be many benefits to all our patients including availability of earlier and later appointments and medical staff with a wider pool of knowledge and skills.

Have your say

We very much welcome your feedback on our plans. If you have any specific queries or concerns please email

or post to one of the surgeries. Open meeting sessions at Church Walk and Church Street practices will be arranged. Details will be published in due course.

From August 2016 our patients can now see a therapist for counselling and cognitive behavioural therapy at the Surgery.

Lets Talk Well Being, a well established provider of psychological therapies, are now operating from the surgery. Patients can self refer directly to them by asking at Reception or can be referred by their GP.

We are pleased to announce that an Ultrasound service is now running at the Surgery.

The community ultrasound clinics started at the Surgery from  March 2016 and have proved extremely popular. Patients that have been refered by their GP for a scan are now able to have thier scan at the practice rather than travelling to hospital for it.

Extended Hours are being offered at our practice

Additional appointments are being offered for patients to book into from 7am on Wednesday mornings, there will be appointments available to pre-book with the GP, Nurse and HCA. We hope this service is of value to those patients who work and find it difficult to attend at other times.

Please remember to cancel appointments if you no longer need them - remember there is always someone else waiting to book appointments, try to be considerate.

We are winners of the RCGP Caring About Carers award 2014
